The Story Behind the Name (Experts Only NYC)

The name “Experts Only NYC” comes from John Summit’s music label. The brand grew from his love of mountains and a fearless “only the bold” attitude. That idea shows up in the festival’s bold style and energy.

John Summit also uses the label to release music. His 2026 album, CTRL ESCAPE, came out in April through Experts Only NYC and Darkroom Records. So, the festival, the label, and the music all connect.
